Putting UVA students to work
The Unicorn Village Academy Pre-employment & Transition Program is designed to prepare students for employment by providing hands on training; opportunities for career exploration and interests in the local community; and college campus experiences. Classroom instruction is provided through lecture and hands on learning. Students practice skills until they demonstrate a predetermined level of competency. At this time students are ready to be placed in the community*. UVA students are assigned to various job sites for short term internships and on-the-job training with on-site job coaches.
*All placement is determined by the Vocational Education Team, after careful review and assessment of skills, ability, and interest.
